Agustín de Hipona y la tehom-Abyssus (o las tinieblas que cubrían el abismo)

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la lectura de algunos pensadores posmodernos de temas planteados por Agustín. Se analiza como Agustín en las Confessiones valora el vocablo Tehom-abyssus del Génesis, ya que lo considera positivo al utilizarlo para imaginarse al mundo como un cuerpo esponjoso rodeado de Dios, pero negativo al usarlo para aludir a la caída original de los ángeles y de los seres humanos, con el consiguiente rescate del Espíritu por medio de las aguas del bautismo. Este término le ha permitido a Agustín expresar su propia interioridad y aspectos del cosmos en donde se refleja, tanto en su propia condición pecadora como redimida. También nos referimos a su intensa búsqueda de la sabiduría, cuya femineidad refleja la femineidad de Mónica, que es presentada por Agustín como modelo de mujer sabia.

This paper dealt with the reading of postmodern thinkers in issues raised by Augustine. Analysed as Augustine in the Confessiones values to the word Tehom-abyssus of Genesis, since it considers it positive when used to imagine the world as a spongy body surrounded of God, but negative when using it to refer to the original fall of the angels and of human beings, with the subsequent rescue of the spirit through the waters of baptism. This term has allowed Augustine expressed his own interiority and aspects of the cosmos where is reflected both in its own condition as redeemed sinner. We also refer to their intense pursuit of wisdom, whose femininity reflects the femininity of Monica, which is presented by Augustine as a model of wise woman.
