The Bovine Verminous Gastroenteritis is one of the most important parasitic illnesses that affects the cattle herds in Argentina, producing big losses for morbidity in the meat production and milk, and in sorne cases mortality, and losses for the increment in the production costs due to the expenditures of antiparasitic drugs and movements of the livestock. The present work was carried out with fecal matter samples sent by farmers and Veterinary Doctors of the area during the period 1996 and 1999 inclusively. The obtained samples were classified according to the year, season, diagnosis and origin: Chapaleufú Department and two small areas of Maracó Department. The sampleswere subjected to a quantitative coprologic analysis using the H.p.g. technique (Egg per gram of fecal matter) for the diagnosis of the bovine verminous gastroenteritis. Having compared the obtained results of the processed samples there were no significant differences among the Departments but there appearded sorne differences among the different seasons ofthe year, being winter-spring the periods in which the majority ofthe positive cases were found.
