Vigencia del discurso político romano en la Generación de Mayo argentina

Abstract

La introducción plantea la relación entre culturas en el plano literario, desde un enfoque comparatista con el fin de poner en diálogo textos de las culturas argentina y romana y demostrar que los escritores argentinos resignificaron la cultura latina dinámica y pragmáticamente, adecuando lo clásico en sus propias circunstancias personales, históricas y sociales. El trabajo se centra en el análisis del discurso político de M. Moreno y B.de Monteagudo, ambos de la 'Generación de Mayo' argentina, en relación con el de C. Salustio y M. T. Cicerón, escritores romanos del siglo I a. C. Para ello, parte de una breve caracterización de los contextos de producción con el objetivo de marcar los elementos convergentes que justifican la relación y de señalar la tensión utópica que explica la existencia de este tipo de discursos. Una vez tratado el corpus latino desde la ideología que lo sustenta y desde la relación emisor-receptor, se analizan diversos discursos periodísticos de los escritores argentinos, aplicando la misma metodología y mostrando la función del discurso latino a través de dos vías: la temática y el empleo de estrategias comunes. La conclusión deja en claro que la cultura latina se ha constituido en sustrato universal al cual apelan los escritores argentinos para legitimar su escritura e imbuirla de prestigio y autoridad. La actualización de la cultura latina responde a una filiación consciente y a una identificación de valores companidos y reelaborados con el aporte de nuevas significaciones.

The introduction of this paper poses a relationship between cultures on the literary level by using a comparative approach to create a dialogue between Argentine and Roman texts and to preve that Argentine writers resignified Latin culture in a dynamic and pragmatic way, adapting what was classical to their own personal, historical and social circumstances. This paper focuses on the analysis of the political discourse of M. Moreno and B. de Monteagudo -both of whorn belonged to the so-called 'Generación de Mayo'- in relation to C. Sallust and M. T. Cicero, Roman writers of I B.C. Thus, the text departs from a brief characterization of the contexts of production as they are found in both cultures and aims at highlighting the convergent elements which justify the relationship and point out the utopic tension which explains the existence of this type of discourses. Once the Latin corpus is analyzed from the ideological point of view that sustains it, and from the perspective of the sender-receiver relationship, several journalistic discourses- written by the Argentinian writers mentioned- are studied with the sume methodology, showing, at the same time, the function of the Latin discourse through two channels: theme and the use of common strategies. The conclusion will make clear that Latin culture has become the universal straturn to which Argentino writers appeal in order to legitimize their writing and to bestow it with prestige and authority. The updatingof Latin culture answer lo a couscious affiliation and identification with values that are shared and re-elaborated with new meanings.
