In the present research work, it will be analyzed the result of the application of different teaching strategies that contribute to the apprehension of significant content of the curriculum in General Chemistry, encouraging reading, writing, the argumentation, among others, as learning resources in the university educational field. The implementation of these methodological practices arises because of the need to develop activities that encourage the students in the learning, as well as to reverse the little interest that the students of the careers of engineering have of chemistry. In these careers, Chemistry -which has a reduced hour load in its plan of study- is considered unimportant by the students as they do not take into account that it is a basic discipline and that provides the fundamental concepts to interpret not only the chemical transformations but also all other kinds of transformations (physical, biological, geological, environmental) that are processes arising in chemical reactions. Chemistry, like no other scientific discipline, conceives concepts that are completely abstract, that serve to interpret the macroscopic properties of the material systems and their changes. In the current teaching situation, the educational system should try to focus on promoting the development of the cognitive possibilities of students, restoring the previous experiences that they have of their perceptual learning, to understand from the macro the properties of materials, and then link them with the symbolic representation. It should also be stimulated the understanding with meaning of the language of chemistry, because it allows the social interaction and the clarification of concepts (Aleate Cano, 2006). If we analyze the teaching of chemistry at the global level, we can induce that is in crisis, and that this crisis does not seem to be associated with the availability of financial resources, infrastructure, technological advances, teachers, social environment exclusively, but that in all environments it is not possible to arouse the interest of the students in the scientific disciplines (Ggalagovsky, 2005). The members of this project are concerned with the persistent index of disapproval and recurrence in the first subjects of the existing curricula of careers in engineering in the Faculty of Engineering of the UNLPam. In response to the foregoing is that we find it timely deployment of different methodological strategies geared to assist students to successfully pass through the paths of conceptual chemistry. In the present work, we will seek to contribute to reversing the problem that exists in the articulation between the pre-university levels and the university, in addition to the lack of motivation that are generated in the first years of higher studies, as well also to establish what students prioritize and shorten the gap between their priorities and what is necessary in the university system, developing teaching and learning strategies that will allow students to build the basic concepts in a meaningful way.
