Patrimonio y turismo en la construcción de nuevos territorios : el partido de Coronel Dorrego, provincia de Buenos Aires, como caso de estudio

Abstract

El patrimonio se ha transformado en un recurso turístico, como tal existen agentes económicos que buscan apropiarse físicamente y simbólicamente de los mismos, resignificando el territorio del que forman parte. Los procesos de patrimonialización y turistificación terminan homologándose cuando los recursos naturales o culturales son puestos en producción para las economías turísticas. En el sud bonaerense los partidos con litoral marítimo presentan un paisaje costero conservado que forma parte del patrimonio natural y un patrimonio cultural en el pastizal pampeano constituido por las antiguas estancias de la región, las abandonadas estaciones ferroviarias de los pueblos rurales y las costumbres y tradiciones del campo. El presente trabajo se divide en dos partes que corresponden a los dos objetivos del mismo: 1) aportar un enfoque teórico sobre la relación entre patrimonialización y turistifi cación en la construcción de nuevos territorios y 2) analizar teórica y metodológicamente el caso de Cnel. Dorrego, en el sud bonaerense, la forma en que el patrimonio natural (paisaje costero) y cultural (paisaje rural) se han incorporado como elementos esenciales en el desarrollo local a partir del turismo. Para tal fin se realizaron relevamientos de campo (campañas 2007, 2008 y 2009), datos secundarios del INDEC, INTA y del Municipio de Cnel. Dorrego, y encuestas a turistas y emprendedores en el Balneario Marisol y en el Circuito Turístico Los Olivares.

Patrimony has been transformed into a tourist resource, and as such, there exist economic agents willing to appropriate it, both physically and symbolically, resignifying the territory of which it is an integral part of. The processes of patrimonilization and touristifi cation end up being equivalents when the natural or cultural resources engage in production for tourist economies. In the south of the province of Buenos Aires, the maritime coastal areas show a preserved coastal landscape that forms part of the natural patrimony,and the cultural patrimony of the Pampas pasturelands, constituted by the old ranches, the abandoned railway stations of the rural towns and the customs and traditions of the countryside. The present work is divided into two parts that correspond to its two objectives: 1)to provide a theoretical approach about the relationship between patrimonilization and touristifi cation in the construction of new territories and 2) to analyze, both theoretically and methodologically, the case of Coronel Dorrego, in the south of the Province of Buenos Aires, regarding the way in which the natural (coastal landscape) and cultural (rural landscape) patrimony have been incorporated as essential elements in the local development on the basis of tourism. To achieve these aims, fi eld work (campaigns 2007, 2008 and 2009) was carried out, secondary data from the INDEC, INTA and the Municipality of Cnel. Dorrego were analysed, and interviews to tourists and entrepreneurs in the Marisol Sea-resort and the Tourist Circuit 'Los Olivares' were carried out.
