The caldén forest it is strongly fragmented in the east portions and the matrix is an agricultural system. The process of fragmentation reduced the total area and generated edge, in those which ecosystem interactions where structurally different. The edge produces abiotic and biotic changes, which can produce modifications in the communities. The objective of this work was to analyze the changes in the structure of the arthropods communities, in the habitat edge of caldén forest. I placed pitfall traps in the interior and the edge of a forest fragment and in matrix. In the 15 pitfall traps were collected a total of 1464 arthropods that were classified at the morpho-species level, of which 98% corresponded to 6 orders. The results showed the biggest abundance arthropods in the matrix and the edge, while of the places of more species richness were the edge and the forest interior. The maximum diversity was in edge and interior forest, and minimum in the matrix. The analyses of similarity and of diversity-dominance showed changes in assemble that were accentuated with the distance between the places and the edge. The last one was like mixture between the matrix and the interior forest, with more likeness to the first one.
