Fuentes de transmisión de geohelmintos y cuidado responsable de perros en una comunidad rural del suroeste de la provincia de Río Negro

La interacción entre el hombre, el perro y el ambiente es un problema para la salud pública dado que puede ocasionar la transmisión de enfermedades zoonóticas, como Hidatidosis y síndrome de larva migrans. Las heces, el pelaje, y el suelo pueden contener diferentes estadios parasitarios (quistes, huevos o larvas). La transmisión de parásitos está asociada al cuidado de los perros, a factores culturales, ambientales y socioeconómicos. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar la relación entre las prácticas de cuidado de los perros y la epidemiología de los geohelmintos transmitidos por perros en viviendas de Río Villegas, un paraje rural del suroeste de Río Negro. Se realizaron 20 encuestas de tipo cualitativas y se tomaron 32 muestras de materia fecal de cada perro, 6 heces de las veredas, 22 muestras de pelo y 7 muestras del suelo de las huertas. Las muestras de heces se analizaron mediante flotación de Sheater y coproELISA, las de suelo por Sheater modificada y Faust modificada y el pelo según Overgaauw y colaboradores (2009). El 68,8% las heces de los perros y el 83,3% de las muestras de las veredas resultaron positivas. Se encontraron 8 especies parásitas: Capillaria aerophila, Toxocara canis, Uncinaria sp., Ancylostoma sp., larvas de Ancylostomátidos, Ascaris suum, Echinococcus sp. y coccidios. Las muestras de pelo fueron negativas y las de suelo de huerta fueron positivas para larvas de Ancylostomátidos. El cuidado de los perros en dicho paraje no es el adecuado, ya que la mayoría accede sin control a la vía pública, la mitad de ellos no estaban castrados, y en general hay un desconocimiento de la transmisión de las zoonosis. Por ello, es necesario mayor trabajo en la concientización respecto del cuidado responsable de los caninos y enfermedades zoonóticas para la prevención de la salud.,,"Zoonosis Salud pública
