Madres en los libros de lectura. Un análisis comparado 1887 y 1952

Abstract

En este trabajo se abordará la noción de madre como un concepto contingente y variable a lo largo del tiem-po. Analizaremos libros escolares como soportes que favorecieron la circulación de sentidos vinculados a la maternidad en dos momentos históricos explorando las particularidades de los contextos de producción de estos materiales. Se señalan convergencias, rasgos especí-ficos detectados en ambos momentos, continuidades y rupturas en los discursos sobre la maternidad en libros de lectura.

In this paper, the notion of mother as a concept of contin-gent and changing over the time will be approached. We will analyze school textbooks as objects that promoted the circulation of senses towards motherhood in two his-torical moments, exploring particularities of this material’s contexts of production. Convergences and specific fea-tures that have been detected in both periods of time are pointed out. This treatment will allow us to recognize continuities and ruptures in the discourses about mother-hood that have been transmitted through textbooks.
