Emulsión de aplicación cosmética con aceites esenciales de dos especies aromáticas

Abstract

El Reino vegetal ofrece innumerables beneficios que el hombre ha sabido aprovechar. En este sentido, el objetivo del presente trabajo fue formular una emulsión estable del tipo W/O con el agregado de AEs de dos plantas aromáticas provenientes de la región semiárida pampeana, Baccharis spartioides y Poncirus trifoliata. Los AEs de las especies vegetales se obtuvieron por arrastre de vapor y caracterizados por CG-MS. Los componentes mayoritarios en B. spartioides fueron limoneno (44%) y espatulenol (12%) y en P. trifoliata: limoneno (62%) y beta-pineno (24%). Se ensayó la actividad antimicrobiana de los AEs frente a Sthapilococcus aureus ATCC 25923. Los resultados de B. spartioides fueron de 10.5 mm que se corresponde con un 35.6% de inhibición para volúmenes de 5 y 6 μL de AEs. P. trifoliata mostro diámetros menores, 7.5 mm y un 24.2% para volúmenes de 6 y 7 μL de AEs. Los diámetros de halo fueron inferiores a 20 mm, esto indica una sensibilidad intermedia que se clasifica como bacteriostática para ambos AEs frente a S. aureus. Se logró la estabilidad de la emulsión cosmética con una agitación de 300 rpm durante 1 hora y la acidificación a pH 5.5. El agregado de 0.5% de AEs a la formula total de la emulsión permitió obtener un aroma agradable.

The vegetable kingdom offers innumerable benefits that man have known how to take advantage of. In this sense, the objective of the present work was to formulate a stable emulsion of the W / O type with the addition of AEs from two aromatic plants from the Pampa semiarid region, Baccharis spartioides and Poncirus trifoliata. The AEs of the plant species were obtained by steam entrainment and characterized by CG-MS. The main components in B. spartioides were limonene (44%) and spatulenol (12%) and in P. trifoliata: limonene (62%) and beta-pinene (24%). The antimicrobial activity of the AEs was tested against Sthapilococcus aureus ATCC 25923. The results of B. spartioides were 10.5 mm, which corresponds to a 35.6% inhibition for volumes of 5 and 6 µL of AEs. P. trifoliata showed smaller diameters, 7.5 mm and 24.2% for volumes of 6 and 7 μL of AEs. The halo diameters were less than 20 mm, this indicates an intermediate sensitivity that is classified as bacteriostatic for both AEs against S. aureus. Stability of the cosmetic emulsion was achieved with stirring at 300 rpm for 1 hour and acidification to pH 5.5. The addition of 0.5% AEs to the total emulsion formula allowed obtaining a pleasant aroma.
