The characteristics of our world at the turn of the millennium, where areas of vertiginous changes co-exist witb others that take rejuge in their centenarian traditions, propose a scene in constant renewal to the teaching of geography. This article offers some refleaions about knowledge on these spheres jrom the viewpoint of a science with a diffuse image in society, with sometimes divergent conceptual approaches in dealing with the problem posed, and still a long way to go jrom epistemological contributions 10 daily class-work.
