Teaching at the university level requires us to incorporate information and communication technologies (ICT) and adjust our educational tools and strategies to them. The objective of this project is to evaluate a multimedia educational resource aimed at facilitating the study of osteoarticular surgical lesions. The virtual environment will include the most representative specimens of the following bone lesions: osteitis, osteosarcomas and osteoarthritis, from the collection belonging to the course Técnica y Patología Quirúrgica, Faculty of Veterinary Science, UNLPam. Each specimen will be digitalized by means of digital photographs which will be introduced in the software D-Sculptor 2 (D-Vision Works Limited, UK) and uploaded to a digital platform created with the software FrontPage (Microsoft, USA). Group activities will be carried out with the students doing the course, who will be presented with the virtual environment and will evaluate it using the methodology of Team Based Learning (TBL) during two consecutive years. The virtual environment will be evaluated both attending to its intrinsic features and to the way in which it is used as a formative tool for the students. To that end, a file card for the didactic evaluation of multimedia innovation (DMI) and an anonymous survey answered by the students will be used. The information will be inserted in the software InfoStat (National University of Córdoba, Argentina) to be analyzed as a multivaried system and using descriptive statistics.
